Arrius 2K1 engine specifications
The Arrius is a family of turboshaft engines introduced in 1981 to power a wide range of rotary-wing single and twin-engine aircraft. Over 2,000 engines have been produced by Turbomeca (Safran Group) for 430 customers in 60 countries. These engines have logged more than 2.8 million flight hours so far. This engine family features extreme simplicity design and mainly consists of four basic variants: Arrius 1A/1M, Arrius 2F, Arrius 2B1/2B2 and Arrius 2K1/2K2. Power at take-off ranges from 479-shp to 716-shp.
The Arrius 2K1 turboshaft engine was certified in late 2001 and powers the AgustaWestland A109E Power twin-engine helicopter. The Arrius 2K2 powers the A109 LUH helicopter. Both engines are controlled by an Electronic Engine Control Unit (EECU) which provides automatic starting, engine protection, training mode and engine life management functions. The Time Between Overhaul (TBO) is 3,000 hours and offer 40 percent power increase compared to early Arrius engines.
